Armoire Wardrobe - Louis Armoire
White Double Mirrored Armoire. Armoire is the French Wardrobe, a standing closet used for storing. The earliest wardrobe was a chest, the Louis Armoire Wardrobe style came about when regal palaces of powerful nobles requested separate accommodation for their clothing. The name of 'wardrobe' was then given to a room in which the wall-space was filled with lockers and cupboards, the drawer was a modern invention. From these cupboards and lockers the modern Armoire wardrobe, with its hanging spaces, sliding shelves and drawers, came to be.
